Bill Wurtzel is a renowned guitarist on the NYC jazz scene. He played for many years with the Count Basie Countsmen, Harlem Blues & Jazz Band, Jazz organists Bill Doggett, Jimmy McGriff,  singers Gloria Lynn, Ruth Brown, Terri Thornton and many other jazz legends. He performs  regularly as a duo with bassist Jay Leonhart. Bill’s various groups have played for countless private events with music that’s perfectly tailored for the occasion. Repeat clients include the Riverside Symphony and Paul Simon. Bill is a director of the Jazz Foundation of America.
